A powerful nor'easter brought anywhere from 6 to 12 inches of snow to the city on Thursday. Winds were gusting at times over 50 miles per hour with near whiteout conditions at times during the day. Our weather has quickly settled down but now the arctic air is settling across the northeast. Temperatures will dip into the teens overnight with wind chills dipping below zero. Those wind chills will remain below zero through the weekend. With these types of wind chills frost bite can occur in as little as 30 minutes. The dangerous cold eases up late in the weekend and forecast highs by early next week are well into the 30s to around 40 degrees. Stay warm!
