If MTA workers seem more friendly these days, it's intentional.

The transit agency issued a memo reminding employees to greet customers with a “hello” or “good morning, afternoon or evening”

This comes after the MTA ditched phrases like “ladies and gentlemen” last month in an effort to be more inclusive —  now it's "passengers, riders or everyone"

And more changes to note:

Workers are no longer called Customer Service Agents.

Instead, they are Wayfinders.

They will be roaming platforms and mezzanines instead of remaining in booths.
