An Alden man is charged with endangering the welfare of his child after police received a call about a fallen child.

New York State Troopers and EMS went to a house on Exchange Street shortly before the parents of a four-month-old infant took the child to Oishei Children’s Hospital for treatment.

As doctors examined the child, they found symptoms of shaken baby syndrome, police say.

State troopers arrested the child's father, Joseph Jurek, 28, for first-degree assault, endangering the welfare of a child and criminal possession of marijuana.

He's being held on $25,000 bail.
