A double shooting just after midnight in Buffalo is the 40th homicide of 2017.
Buffalo police were called to East Amherst Street around midnight and found one man dead and another injured.
The 36-year-old man who was injured was taken to ECMC for treatment and is listed in critical condition.
The man who was killed inside the apartment has not been identified.
