The Staten Island little leaguers celebrated their journey to the Little League World Series in an Amazin' way.

The Mets hosted Mid-Island Little League at Citi Field before Sunday afternoon's game against the Washington Nationals.

The little leaguers got to chat with players and even take batting practice on the field.

It all led up to a pregame ceremony.

"It's really cool because it's a good experience," said Derek Mendez, a pitcher with the Mid-Island team. "A lot of kids dream to come to Mets stadium and hit BP and meet the guys, and it's really cool."

"You know, I started throwing BP, and they were like, 'You can throw it a lot harder than that,'" said Mets manager Mickey Callaway. "Really, really good kids. Obviously, they're having fun, and they can really swing the bat, so maybe we'll see a couple of them up here one day."

The Mid-Island team won its first two games of the Little League World Series, but was eliminated after losing to Hawaii and Georgia
