Queens City Councilman Jimmy Van Bramer confirmed Tuesday that he is eyeing a run for borough president in three years.

The lifelong Queens resident, who has served in the city council since 2010, won re-election last November but will not be able to run again when his term is up in 2021 due to term limits.

Speaking before Mayor Bill de Blasio's State of the City address Tuesday night, Van Bramer said he has begun raising money for what would be his dream job.

"I feel like we've had a really successful run in Western Queens," the council man. "These 12 years will have allowed us to produce a lot of great victories for our neighborhoods, and to be able to deliver for our entire borough would be a dream come true."

Current Queens Borough President Melinda Katz is also said to be considering a run for higher office, with many expecting her to run for mayor in 2021.
