Mayor Bill de Blasio brought City Hall to the Bronx Monday.

He started the day meeting with his senior staff at the County Courthouse. They will spend the next week engaging with New Yorkers unable to reach them at their usual office in Manhattan.

De Blasio says it's important for him to get out and connect with people from all five boroughs.

"When you get close to the people, it makes it easier to serve the people," de Blasio said. "We know that moving City Hall to the Bronx is one of the ways to serve the people of the Bronx better. We look forward to a really exciting week ahead."

The mayor also toured a food distribution center in Hunts Point, and later took part in a program on emergency preparedness and a roundtable on youth employment.

This is all part of the mayor's "City Hall in Your Borough" campaign.

Last month, de Blasio spent a week on Staten Island. He is expected to hit Brooklyn and Queens by the end of the year.
