BROOKLYN, N.Y. - Police are looking for a man they say raped a woman at knifepoint near the Prospect Park Parade Grounds Sunday morning.

Investigators say the 59-year-old woman was walking home, when her attacker grabbed her by the neck and forced her into a parked car, where he pulled out the knife and assaulted her.

Residents say a darkened street along Parkside Avenue makes them nervous about safety in the area.

"It's petrifying. I walk these streets I park down there, I just did right now I'm walking here at night, so that's really scary for me," said one resident.

"There has been a few instances in Prospect Park where a woman was attempted to be grabbed and raped. But now I do walk here in the morning at 5:45, it's pitch black, so I'm going to be changing my route," said another resident.

The victim was treated at a nearby hospital.

Police describe the man they're looking for as about 5'8" tall, 180 pounds, last seen wearing a gray jogging suit, black jacket and white sneakers.
