Police are investigating after several women were attacked by pitbulls Sunday night in the Bronx.

They say two dogs broke loose from their leashes near Pelham Parkway and Lurting Avenue in Morris Park.

The pitbulls then went after a group of eight people nearby.

Five women were taken to the hospital with bites and scratches.

Four of those injured were under the age of 18.

The dog handlers were given tickets by police.
