A Bronx community rallies against a proposed apartment building on Boston Road.

A group of Bronxdale residents urge local officials to oppose the construction. A six-story building would replace a used car dealership.

According to the developer more than half of the 35 apartments would be allocated for affordable housing.

But, residents are concerned it will increase congestion in the area and make parking even more difficult.

"The Bronx is being developed, but it's being over developed and the people of the community, the immediate community are the ones that should decide what comes here and what doesn't," said Raphael Schweizer, who organized the rally.

Bronx Community Board 11 is expected to vote on the proposal this week.
