The cold temperatures didn’t stop Thousands of cancer survivors, friends and family from participating in the annual Damon Runyon 5K at Yankee Stadium Sunday morning.

The 5K has raised five million dollars for cancer research in the past decade.

Participants ran through the ballpark stands and around the iconic field.

Former NFL Jets player Devon Still took part as well. His daughter is three years in remission.

"People who are diagnosed with cancer aren't given a heads up, they don't have a chance to train, they have to dive right into the fight so diving right into a 5K is going to be special to me because it's showing these people who are fighting cancer that we're with them," said Still.

Organizers say the Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation has invested more than $340 million dollars in cutting-edge cancer research.
