The Olympics may be happening over 68 hundred miles away, but that didn't stop kids in Queens from a little healthy competiton.

Kids from around the city duked it out in basketball, track and more at the Police Athletic League's Annual Tournament of Champions Wednesday.

They also battled in STEM games like building complicated marble runs out of paper.

Like the Olympics, organizers hope the tournament unites its participants.

"It's a way for the after school kids to get together from all of our sites and compete with each other," said Dana Wheeler, director of Education and Program Development. "But also they get to show off what they've learned."

Winners went home with medals, ribbons and certificates.
