Firefighters are investigating a deadly house fire in Queens.

Fire officials say flames broke out just after 7:30 p.m. Friday on 262nd Street and 80th Avenue in Glen Oaks.

After firefighters got the fire under control, officials say they found the man's body on the second floor.

People nearby described neighbors running outside to find the house in flames.

"We thought something was burning like in the kitchen or something, and then a lot of the neighbors came out," said one person nearby. "There were fire trucks, flames outside.

"We got a knock on our door and someone was passing by and they said the next door's neighbor's house was on fire. So we kind of ran outside and saw the house in flames, and that's when we called 911," said another.

The victim's name has not been released.
