AUSTIN, Texas - The Governor's Commission on Women is now accepting nominations for the Texas Women's Hall of Fame.

Gov. Greg Abbott said Hall of Famers are extraordinary examples and role models for all Texans.

"The Texas Women’s Hall of Fame recognizes and celebrates Texas women not only for their individual achievements, but also for their contributions to the strength of the Lone Star State,” said Abbott in a statement.

The Women's Hall of Fame includes first ladies, astronauts and Olympic athletes.

Nominations must be submitted by April 27. The nomination form can be found online.
