Police are looking for an armed masked man in connection with the fatal stabbing of a couple Wednesday evening in Brooklyn, sources tell NY1.
Police said they received a call around 6:41 p.m. of a robbery on Winthrop St. in between Rogers Ave. and Nostrand Ave. in Prospect-Lefferts Gardens.
When officers arrived, according to officials, they found Stephenson Bonaparte, 65, and Hazel Brown, 59, with multiple stab wounds. Bonaparte was found in front of the home and Brown was inside.
Sources said the husband and wife were coming home from work when a masked person stabbed them both in the neck as they approached their front door.
According to sources, Brown managed to enter the home and their daughter called 911 and saw the attacker run away.
Brown was pronounced dead at the scene, and Bonaparte was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
"It's really scary because it's too close to home. And for something to happen at that time around six. That's kind of early, no one was out I guess because of the rain or snow. It's just really sad," said one neighborhood resident.
Sources said Bonaparte and Brown own a store about two miles away that sells religious items.
There are no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.
