The trucks are ready at Middletown's DPW garage to take on the snow, and especially wintry mix, expected Wednesday.

"The plows will be up, and we'll just be driving around speading salt all over the street when we have freezing conditions, or when the roads turn into ice," said Middletown City DPW Commissioner Jacob Tawil.

The DPW will have about 20 people out Wednesday to clear roads, but they have about 230 lane miles to cover. Countywide, Emergency Services officials say they'll be ready to help out with possible weather issues. The Hudson Valley is expected to get snow, with sleet and freezing rain added to the mix later.

"So that means a lot of weight, so you get broken tree limbs or downed wires, so it could be a situation where we have a lot of power outages. That's what we're always concerned of when we have a heavy, wet snow event," said Casey.

Local and county leaders say they've prepped, and they'll be ready for the weather that hits.
