SAN ANTONIO -- Friday night's government shutdown is already taking a toll on local tourist attractions.

Mission Concepcion kept its doors closed Saturday, citing lack of funds from the government. Visitors on the mission trail had to enjoy the outside of the building as the entrance to the mission and information center were both closed.

Those visiting the mission see this as an early sign of the effects of the shutdown.

"It's a small inconvenience today but these are government employees that are going to be furloughed. They're are military people, this is military city USA and our military can't get paid until they get a budget agreement going, so I think it really is the start of a bad situation if they can't figure something out,” said visitor Laura Cannon.

Until an agreement is made this mission as well as federal buildings will stay closed.
