A teenager with special needs is about to get rolling on his new bike thanks to the kindness of others.

Members of the Park Slope community presented 15-year-old Diego Montez with a new special needs bike Friday.  Similar bikes for people with cerebral palsy, like Diego, usually cost thousands of dollars. But the Montez family didn’t pay a penny.  Instead, the owner of local bike shop 'Behind Bars' Sandra Alfonzo collected donations online and from her customers. She says it was as rewarding for her as it was for the teenager. "It's awesome. It’s awesome. I can’t, I don’t want forget this day."

This isn't the first time Alfonzo has made the effort to help others. She actually raised enough money to buy three bikes last year. This year, she's hoping to buy five more.
