AUSTIN, Texas -- Visitors to the  Lyndon B. Johnson Library were disappointed Saturday when they showed up to closed doors.

The government shutdown caused the library to close, since funding will be halted until a spending bill is passed. Signs posted outside the building and on its Twitter account say the museum will be closed until the funding is restored.

One visitor to Austin had the library on his list of things to see in Austin.

"I guess I'm going to go home and back to Virginia disappointed. Thanks government. You know it kind of ruined my entire vacation, but thanks,” said Austin visitor Paul Mashack.

The library is giving refunds for people who bought tickets online. You can contact the admissions office at admissions@lbjlibrary.org
