A Syracuse bar has lost its liquor license after several violations.

The New York State Liquor Authority Council said it made the decision following a "series of violence and disorder" at Cougars on Butternut.

Syracuse Police responded to the bar 16 times for fights, assaults, and drug use over the past year.

The most recent incident involved a violent brawl on New Year's Day, when multiple people were stabbed, including the licensee.

The Liquor Authority charged Cougars with five violations of the Alcoholic Beverage Control Law, including disorderly premises, failure to exercise adequate supervision, and for becoming a focal point for police attention.
