ROANOKE RAPIDS, N.C. -- Body armor is on the way for the Roanoke Rapids Police Department's K9s.

K9 Jimi is set to get a bullet and stab protective vest.

The donation is coming from a nonprofit organization called Vested Interest in K9s, Inc.

This is the second vest awarded to the police department in the past two months.

It is set to arrive in eight to ten weeks.
