Bitter cold air is moving in as high pressure builds to our northwest. That high will remain there for several days so we will remain bitter cold for at least a week. For the Piedmont  low will be in the teens each night with single digit wind chills for New Year's morning. Highs will only be in the middle 30s. The mountains will have wind chills below zero to start the new year with highs in the teens! Hypothermia and frostbite are a real concern. Remember to dress in layers and be sure to wear hats and gloves.
