HOUSTON -- An armored truck driver took matters into her own hands after being robbed at gunpoint and police say she's lucky to be alive.

Police say several men targeted her as she was leaving a bank with a cash deposit in Houston. When they tried to leave in their getaway car, she rammed them with the armored truck.

They fired several shots at her and continued to flee. Authorities say they're surprised she wasn't hurt.

"It's a miracle. It's a miracle and we're just thankful that we don't have something more heinous that we're working on here. It is tragic in the fact that that young woman had that pistol pointed at her, but just thank God that no one got hurt,” said Lt. Jeff Stauber, of the Harris County Police Department.

The suspects continued for another block before carjacking another driver. Police are still looking for them.
