WATERTOWN, N.Y. -- Many in the North Country are digging themselves out after heavy lake effect snowfall.

Oswego County Emergency Management warned people in the Town of Boylston Tuesday night to stay off the roads because of the conditions. According to officials, five feet of snow in the town have fallen since Christmas.

Lewis County is also under a travel advisory.  Lake effect snow warnings remain in effect until Wednesday night.

With snow-covered roads and strong winds, visibility throughout the area has been poor.

And it's not just the snow causing problems, the temperature is also bottoming out with wind chills below zero in some areas.
