You may notice that something is missing if you're traveling along the Brooklyn waterfront this week.

The iconic "Watchtower" sign was taken down Wednesday morning.

It sat on top of the former Jehovah's Witnesses world headquarters in Brooklyn Heights.

The non-profit organization is relocating upstate. A spokesperson says there are currently no plans to repurpose the letters. For now, they will be placed in storage.

The Jehovah's Witnesses called the building home for almost 50 years.

It's where they produced bibles and other religious materials.

The building's time and temperature sign remains.
