Firefighters are investigating the cause of a four-alarm fire that tore through a Brooklyn building Thursday monring.

Officials say call came in shortly after 5 a.m.

The fire started in the ground floor hardware store located at 1163 Fulton Street in Bedford-Stuyvesant and quickly spread to the top of the building.

A witness who spoke with NY1 at the scene says he helped evacuate a family who lives inside the building. 

No injuries have been reported at this time. 

The FDNY warned residents living nearby to close windows to avoid the smoke.
