NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas – Four teenagers are in custody after they were caught breaking into vehicles in New Braunfels, police said. 

On Friday at 12:50 a.m. officers received a 911 call reporting suspicious men dressed in all black lurking on South Water Lane and Seascape Lane.

Arriving police found a teen burglarizing a car while it was parked in the driveway of a house on Seascape Lane, according to a report. 

Another teen was discovered hiding along the side of the house. Two more teens were found across the street trying to hide from police.

The teens were all wearing facemasks and bandanas around their necks. Some of them were also wearing gloves and carrying flashlights.

The four teens were detained by police and transported to the Guadalupe County Juvenile Detention Center. With the recent escalation of car burglaries in New Braunfels, police said additional charges may be pending against the teens.

The neighborhood is commended by the New Braunfels Police Department for closely monitoring suspicious activity.

Residents are encouraged to lock their cars and avoid leaving valuables in their vehicles.
