Police officers in the Bronx went above and beyond to serve their community.

The 42 precinct held their first ever community Thanksgiving dinner on Wednesday.

Neighborhood Coordination officer Sergeant Elliott Zinstein whipped up the home-cooked meals.

The ingredients were donated by officers and Food Bazaar.

The officers fed about 50 people and six families in the Morrisania section of the Bronx.

The command says those who participated in the dinner were chosen by churches and the precinct's neighborhood coordination officers who identified familes most in need.
