A man who escaped police custody late last year has done it again.

Police said two transit officers stopped Daniel Ortiz at the Grand Concourse subway station around 12:22 a.m. Tuesday for going through a gate without paying his fare.

They then discovered the 32-year-old had an active warrant for his arrest.

But when they tried to place him in custody, officials said, he pushed and bit the officers and ran away.

Last year, Ortiz got away while under police guard at Lenox Health Center despite wearing shackles. He was re-captured more than a week later near Penn Station without incident.

Ortiz is now wanted in connection to the assault of the two transit officers.

The officers were taken to a local hospital, where they were treated and released.
