The city police department needs help finding a man they say tried to rape a woman in Brooklyn on Wednesday.

It happened around 2:50 a.m. Wednesday near Bath and 20th Avenues in Bath Beach, the police department said.

Officials said the man, who is seen above, approached a 36-year-old woman from behind, covered her mouth, threw her to the ground, and then groped her and tried to take off her clothes.

The man ran away after the woman fought him off, according to investigators.

She was treated for her injuries at a local hospital.

The attacker is described as about being about 30 years old, 5 feet, 7 inches tall, and weighing about 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing a grey coat, black shoes, and grey jogging clothes, police said.
