The last of a five borough effort by the Department of Sanitation, to help residents recycle their old electronics and hazardous waste materials, is now over.

The Department of Sanitation hosted its last SAFE disposal event of the season on Saturday at the Midland Beach parking lot on Staten Island.

The effort started in Queens last month before moving on to Brooklyn, Manhattan and the Bronx.

Each time residents get the chance to dispose of items like pesticides, strong cleaners, computers and medications.

The 5 borough campaign is part of the Mayor Bill de Blasio's ambitious commitment to achieving Zero Waste in New York City by 2030.
