Police arrested a man Saturday who they said was responsible for a hit-and-run that killed an 82-year-old woman in the Bronx a night earlier.

Alcyto Powell, 50, faces several charges, including leaving the scene of an accident, which officials said led to the woman's death.

The city police department said Powell struck Hilda Arocho while she crossed Pitman Ave. in Wakefield around 9:11 p.m. Friday.

Police said Powell got out of the car and ran away.

Arocho taken to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead, police said.

Authorities said Powell turned himself in Saturday.
