Update, 8:07 p.m. October 7, 2017: Police said they arrested the driver Saturday. Alcyto Powell, 50, faces several charges, including leaving the scene of an accident, which officials said led to the woman's death.

Police are a looking for the driver they said struck an 82-year-old woman with a car in the Bronx on Friday night and left the scene.

The white Dodge cargo van hit Hilda Arocho while she crossed Pitman Ave. in Wakefield around 9:11 p.m., according to investigators.

She was taken to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead, police said.

Police said the driver fled the scene on foot.
