A Bronx man is facing murder charges after an EMT worker was run down with her own ambulance Thursday night.
Investigators say Yadira Arroyo and her partner were responding to a call in Soundview around 7 p.m. when they noticed a man riding their back bumper.
Police say when they got out to investigate the man jumped in and tried to drive away with the ambulance.
"This person in turn went to the other side of the ambulance and got in to the driver's side. When they noticed that and they tried to get him out of the ambulance, he put it in reverse and struck the one EMT who was injured and ran over our other EMT," said FDNY Commissioner Daniel Nigro.
"She started her day, her shift today like everyday, and an act of senseless violence takes her life," said Mayor Bill de Blasio.

Police were able to subdue Jose Gonzalez, 25, with the help of some good samaritans.
He faces murder charges and a charge of operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs.
Yadira Arroyo was a 14-year veteran of the FDNY and a mother of five.
She was 44-years-old.
Her partner is expected to recover from her injuries.
Police say Gonzalez has over two dozen prior arrests on his record, including assault, criminal mischief and marijuana possession.
