An elderly woman is dead after a fire broke out late Thursday night in the Bronx.
Flames broke out just before midnight on the third floor of an apartment building located at 1770 Andrews Avenue in Morris Heights.
A 78-year-old woman was found unconscious in her bedroom, and was taken to the hospital where she later died.
It took firefighters about an hour to get the fire under control.
It's not yet clear what sparked the flames.
