City police officers and firefighters squared off Sunday in a charity soccer match at Yankee Stadium.

The NYPD plays for the Widow and Children's Fund, which provides aid and assistance to those who've lost loved ones in the line of duty.

The firefighters play for the Sergio Villanueva Soccer Foundation, which is named for a player on their soccer team who died in the September 11th attacks.

But while the ultimate goal is to raise money, both sides say they want to win.

"We're friends off the field, we battle on the field. I've known the Fire Department guys for 15-20 years and we've been doing this for a while and it's a great event to get two city agencies together," said NYPD Soccer Team, Manager/Player Ronald Mejia.

"It's a good rivalry. It's been going on for a long time. Next year will be the 40th anniversary of the team. To be able to bring this game to New York City with New York City FC and to be at Yankee Stadium is a really fitting place for this match," said FDNY Head Coach Jospeh Brosi.

The NYPD won the game 3-2.
