Police have ruled the death of a man found inside a crate in The Bronx earlier this week a homicide.

The medical examiner's office has determined that 60-year-old James Brannon was shot in the head.

Police said they found Brannon's decomposing body at Locust Point Marina on Reynolds and Harding Avenues on Monday around 12:14 a.m.

His last known address was in Montana. Police are investigating and are still working to determine how long Brannon's body was inside the crate.
