A vigil was held Monday for the pregnant woman stabbed to death last week in the Bronx.

Friends and family gathered in Wakefield to honor 22-year-old Angelikque Sutton.

Police say she was nearly nine months pregnant when she was attacked by childhood friend Ashleigh Wade.

Investigators say Wade also cut Sutton's baby out of her womb.

Sutton's loved ones described the type of person she was.

"She had such a big impact in our life. She was always so joyful and laughing, and anytime you were in a down mood, or anything like that she would just uplift you," said one vigil attendee.

"There's so many ways to obtain a child. There's adoption, there's you know, intra vitro fertilization. There's so many other ways, you know, you name it. But, to do such a crime, it's beyond measure," said another vigil attendee.

Sutton's baby survived.

Investigators say Wade claimed the child was actually hers.

Wade was taken to the hospital for a psychiatric evaluation and later charged with second degree murder, manslaughter, and criminal weapons possession.
