Workers at Co-Op City will soon be getting back millions in back wages.

Riverbay Corporation, which manages the large housing complex in the Bronx, agreed to pay $6.25 million in back wages to workers.

The decision comes after a settlement was reached in a federal lawsuit that's been going on for two years.

The suit, filed on behalf of over 1,700 current and former employees, claims the corporation denied workers overtime and nighttime pay for work that dates as far back as April 2007.

Preliminary calculations indicate some workers will get more than $15,000.

Riverbay was already required to pay $1.5 million towards the settlement last month and will have to match that amount in April.

The corporation will have to pay out the balance by September.
