Saint Patrick's Day is Tuesday but the Bronx got the celebration started a little early this past weekend.

More than 20 bands and 60 marching groups took part Sunday in the 17th Annual Throgs Neck St. Patrick's Day Parade.

Spectators say the event is always a good time.

"Always different always new, one of the best traditions we have in the Bronx. Everyone enjoys it. No matter your background, where your from, everyone comes out and shows support," said one parade goer.

"It was great, loved it. It's a tradition for me and my family," said another parade goer.

"It was a great parade today like it always is, a lot of fun," said a third parade goer.

The 254th New York City St. Patrick's Day parade will make its way up Fifth Avenue on Tuesday.

The parade is the oldest and largest St. Patrick's Day march in the world.
