A truck driver faces a list of charges after allegedly being involved in a hit and run in the Bronx Friday morning.

Police say 36-year-old Efrain Rodriguez hit a car on Bruckner and Barretto streets in Hunts Point before striking a 17-year-old boy on Southern Boulevard at around 8:40 a.m.

Police say the man then fled the scene, hitting a parked car and forcing it into a nearby building.

Police say the teen was taken to a nearby hospital, where he is in critical condition.

Witnesses said they heard loud crashes when it happened.

"The speeding truck, as you can see right here, was coming too fast, knocks the wind out this kid, understand," said one witness. "The kid was laying over there, and he was all full of blood and stuff. I think he was trying to get to school or something. I'm not sure"

Police say Rodriguez faces counts including reckless driving, operating a motor vehicle impaired by drugs and unauthorized use of a vehicle.
