There's a renewed call for tolls on the East River bridges.

A group called Move New York is expected to unveil a plan to improve the region's transportation system.

According to the Daily News, the proposal would charge drivers an $8 cash toll to cross the four East River bridges, and to cross 60th Street in Manhattan in both directions.

Drivers with E-Z Pass would pay $5.54.

The proposal is similar to the congestion pricing idea once pushed by former mayor Michael Bloomberg.

But unlike that plan, Move New York is also calling for toll cuts on other crossings including the Verrazano, RFK Triboro, Cross Bay and Marine Parkway bridges.

Move New York says its plan would ease traffic congestion and raise one and a half billion dollars a year.
