The suspect in the city's first homicide case of the year has been arrested.
Police say 22-year-old Rommel Albergottie has been arrested for the shooting, which occurred in the Bronx.
Authorities say Albergottie shot and killed a 26-year-old man just three hours into the new year.
The shooting took place in the lobby of the St. Mary's Houses in Melrose.
Albergottie is facing multiple charges including second degree murder.
