Friends and family came together Thursday to say goodbye to a 16-year-old killed in a hit-and-run in the Bronx.

Services were held for Dylon Ramirez at McCall's Bronxwood Funeral Home.

Ramirez died January 4 when he was hit by two cars while crossing Baychester and Crawford avenues in the Bronx.

He was walking with a 15-year-old girl who was also struck.

Both vehicles fled the scene.

One of the drivers, 26-year-old Shawn Williams, has since been arrested. Police are still looking for the driver of the second car.

"In times like this, it's hard to put closure, especially when you know the individual responsible for taking a life roams free," said City Councilman Andy King of the Bronx.

"He was a really funny kid. And most things I'm going to miss about him is arguing with him. That's a brother thing right there. The best thing you can do is fight with him and still be there for him, you know," said Melvin Ramirez, the victim's brother. "I'm always going to keep a smile on my face for my little brother."

"Dylon was a soft-natured, wonderful young man," said Pastor Sylvia Dummett. "A young man who had a lot of courage. A young man who had a very loving heart."

The drivers involved in the accident will be fined $10,000 under a new city law that went into effect at the start of the year.
