Their looks may look effortlessly put together at Fashion week, but models, designers, and their teams spend plenty of time tying together all the elements that go into the shows. NY1's Jessica Abo got a peek behind the curtain and filed this report.

On this cold winter day the Gen Art team is casting models for their upcoming PRMITV WORLD presentation.

"Gen Art is an organization that for the last 20 years has been showcasing young, hot fashion talent. So we give brand new designers their first show at New York Fashion Week," says Keri Ingvarsson, partner and managing director of Gen Art.

This season Gen Art is helping Jacqueline Levine's famous sculptures make their way into the fashion world.

"She really built her career during the housing downfall and recession, when she would go and take over abandoned buildings, but she worked with local mayors in the outskirts of Detroit, Brooklyn and downtown LA and she would build this crazy pop up scultpure gardens with these monsters," Ingvarsson says.

Now it's time for the team to pick who will wear these monster-inspired looks.

While auditioning may be a long process, these models say they try to sport a healthy attitude.

"I try to forget I went on them, so if I get the job it's like a pleasant surprise and if I don't get it, it's like I never went," says model Heather Parrish.

"I try to look at it positively, like you're getting exercise and kind of a work out and you get to see the whole city, all different parts of it. I just went to Brooklyn, so I got to see Greenpoint," says model Erin Mulcahy.

"I wear a pedometer to all my castings and it's been saying that I walk 10-12 miles every single day to all of my castings, so you get a really good workout. You appreciate your bed at night," says model Kassidy Fischer.

With the models cast, the team came to Chelsea Piers to paint the space and bring the collection to life.

"It's been a really amazing journey. You know, with any new creative endeavor, there's definitely a learning curve and I've just kind of seen from the day we started doing the designs and seeing it come to product and then seeing the product on the models—it's amazing. It's incredible," says Jacqueline Levine, creative director of PRMITV WORLD.

Levine says with the show behind her, she's excited to finally see her sculpture inspired clothing hit stores.
