This week, Billy Lyons of Zagat takes a look at the best places to eat inside and outside of Citi Field. He filed this report.

Tortilleria Nixtamal in Corona is a short drive from Citi Field, which makes in the perfect place to stop by for a pregame bite.

"There's no good Mexican food without a 100 percent corn tortilla, so what we decided to do is actually make the corn tortilla," said Shauna Page, co-owner of Tortilleria Nixtamal.

Though the street side factory specializes in producing thousands of fresh masa tortillas daily, which it then delivers to restaurants across the city, as well as Citi Field, Tortilleria Nixtamal's restaurant only a few blocks away. The restaurant offers fans the chance to sit down and fill up on tacos, tamales, and margaritas before game time.

Inside the ballpark, new options for 2016 include David Chang's fried chicken palace Fuku, and Papa Rosso for pizza. But even established fan favorites like Keith's Grill are constantly upping their game. Keith Hernandez's ballpark stand is now offering a gourmet burger blend from butcher Pat LaFrieda for the first time.

Lyons: In 1986, throughout your career, did you have food like this available to you in the dugout?
Keith Hernandez, former Mets first baseman/Mets broadcaster: Not even in the clubhouse, no. It's come such a long way at the ballparks. For the fans, there's so much more variety of food for them to choose from."

One thing is clear: no matter what the score, Citi Field offers plenty of dining options that leave everyone a winner.
