"Paris Refashioned" at FIT

Talk about stylish — the Museum at FIT's new exhibit, "Paris Refashioned: 1957-1968," looks at the worldwide impact of young French designers at that time. Some of the fresh new faces included Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Cardin. The exhibit opens Friday, Feb. 10.

Bjorn Skaarup's "Hippo Ballerina" at Dante Park

At Dante Park, just across from Lincoln Center, check out Bjorn Skaarup's "Hippo Ballerina." And if you like whimsical animal sculptures, find more a few blocks away at Cavalier Gallery's companion exhibition. There's also an Instagram contest, so post your best image with the hashtag #dancewithhippoballerina

Times Square Arts Valentine Heart

The winner of the Times Square Arts 2017 Valentine Heart Design competition is a data sculpture by the Office for Creative Research, seen in the video above. Called "We Were Strangers Once Too," the colors represent the national origins of foreign-born New Yokers. It's on view in Times Square.

The Athena Film Festival runs now through Sunday at Barnard College. It's four days of features, documentaries, and shorts about courageous women.

"Love and Jazz" Concert at The Met Museum

Friday night at The Met Museum, the Gerald Clayton Trio welcomes special guests Nicholas Payton and Dee Dee Bridgewater for a special "Love and Jazz Concert." It's free with museum admission, but registration is required.

Don't miss Centre Choréographique National — Ballet de Lorraine in its U.S. debut tour performing "Unknown Pleasures." This work was created by five anonymous international choreographers. It's a great opportunity for modern dance lovers to guess who might've created which work, and for dance fans to see choreographers quite uninhibited. This is a real treat. Now through Sunday, Feb. 12.
