Queens and Bronx residents got a brief scare Thursday night when a Tornado Warning was issued for the boroughs before the storm moved east.

A storm that had brought heavy rain to parts of New York City earlier in the evening also resulted in the National Weather Service issuing the warning for Queens, the Bronx, and Nassau County around 10:20 p.m.

Within 20 minutes, however, the fast-moving storm had moved east and away from the city.

Shortly after 10:45 p.m., the warning had expired for Nassau County, too.

As of 10:45 p.m., there no reports of damage from a tornado in New York City.

Naturally, social media reaction was swift:

Friday is expected to be another hot and humid day with chances for showers and thunderstorms, especially in the evening. The rain could be heavy at times.

Temperatures will be in the 80s but they will feel like they are around 90. Temperatures will bottom out in the low 70s.

More precipitation is forecast on Saturday, but Sunday looks dry with a high near 90.
