After 7 days of instense heat and humidity, we have comfortable conditions for the weekend. High pressure has moved in from Canada, bringing in lower humidity and lower temperatures. The hottest temperature during our heat wave was last Sunday, when we hit 96 degrees. The top feels-like reading was 106 and happened at 1pm on Tuesday. Summer season countdown: This is weekend number 8 out of 16 for the summer season. The summer season is Memorial day to Labor day. For next week, the heat comes back. On Tuesday, the top temperatures could hit 92 degrees. Also, the tropics are getting active. We have Hurricane Beryl which will weaken and move through the Windward and Leeward islands this weekend. Also, a storm off of the Carolina's could strengthen into tropical storm Chris this weekend. If Chris forms, it could bring the city dangerous rip currents by the middle of the coming week.
