A storm system off to our south kept the five boroughs under the clouds for most of Sunday, but, we did manage to get a few peeks of sunshine during the late-morning and early-afternoon hours. In addition, afternoon temperatures were unable to get out of the 30s, making it the sixth straight day in which afternoon highs were below-normal.

Monday is looking much brighter, but, the unseasonably cold air will remain in place. Afternoon highs will once again struggle to get out of the 30s.

Looking ahead, partly to mostly sunny skies will be in place Tuesday through Thursday, but, temperatures are expected to remain below-normal. Afternoon highs will only be in the upper 30s and low 40s. Clouds will then increase on Friday as our next storm system approaches the area. Periods of rain are likely Friday evening through Sunday morning, and some locations could see over an inch of rain. Temperatures will rise into the upper 40s.
